ifs Young Business Writer of the Year is a chance for individual students to prove their journalistic prowess. It is open to any UK student aged between 14 and 19.

What did the challenge involve?

ifs Young Business Writer of the Year is a chance for individual students to prove their journalistic prowess. It is open to any UK student aged between 14 and 19. To enter, you'll need to write an article of no more than 1,000 words in the style of a business magazine. Marks will be awarded for good report writing style, and for demonstrating your research, evaluation, analysis, and written argument skills. The winner of the challenge will receive a cheque for £500.

This year's challenge is now closed for entries. The title for this year's article was:

“Saving for the future – one size fits all?”

Over 7 million working people are not saving any money for their retirement and a further 5 million are not saving enough to provide themselves with a reasonable retirement income.
