Your first stop for help should normally be here, followed by your teacher. If you still have not got an answer to your question, please contact us.

  • How am I meant to understand all this financial jargon?
Throughout the Challenges we use a lot of financial terminology. Where a more unusual term appears, you should be able to find out more about it by holding the cursor over the term. For a more detailed explanation, each unusual term is linked to our glossary - just follow the link to read more!
  • When do the Challenges start?
Mini Trader starts on 17 September 2007 and all predictions must be entered by midnight on 19 October 2007. Judging will be carried out based on the share prices at the close of trading on 2 November 2007.
Portfolio Challenge starts on 5 November 2007 and the online section finishes at close of trading on 29 February 2008.
The article title for ifs Young Business Writer of the Year will be released on 1 December 2007 and entries must be received by 29 February 2008.
  • How do I register for the Challenges?
Unfortunately registration for the Portfolio Challenge and Mini Trader is closed for this year.
  • When I try to register or use your contact page I can't seem to access the page. Why is this?
In order to preserve your privacy, this site uses 128-bit security whenever you use a page that transmits private details (such as your e-mail address) to us. Some older browsers are incapable of using this standard, so the pages do not display. If you can, please upgrade your browser (see links below - all these browsers are free to download). If this is not possible, please e-mail us at admin@studentinvestor.org, let us know which browser you are using and we will do our best to help!
  • How do I change details about my team?
Once you have registered you can edit most of your team's details at any time. To change the password of your team, you will need to contact us.
  • Who is running the game?
The game is run by the ifs School of Finance, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes financial education.
